100 pushups book

7 Weeks to 100 Push-Ups

Since launching the Hundred Push Ups web site many months ago, I’ve received many email requests for a book of the same title. Well, as luck would have it, a well-known publisher, Ulysses Press, is backing me in my quest to write a comprehensive and challenging publication about everyone’s favorite exercise — the humble push-up!

7 Weeks to 100 Push-Ups is my first attempt at writing a book and I’ve been hard at work for several months putting together a quality product. I hope you like it!

The book is now officially available and can be purchased at the following online retailers (prices correct August 24th, 2009 and subject to change):

The Amazon book description:It’s the world’s most recognizable, straight-forward exercise, but most people don’t know it’s actually a hardcore full-body workout. 7 Weeks to 100 Push-Ups is the ultimate program to train the body to go from just one push-up to 100 consecutive reps in under two months—sculpting muscles in the chest, abs, back, glutes and arms without a single piece of unwieldy equipment.

The book starts with detailed instructions on how to perform a proper push-up and how to maximize its benefit, breaking down the strength-building effects muscle by muscle. In addition there are day-by-day and week-by-week exercise plans that outline how to work up to 100 push-ups safely and effectively.

I’ve also included a comprehensive warm-up and post-exercise stretching routine, six different workout plans covering all levels of ability and a basic maintenance plan so you can keep the strength and fitness you’ve worked hard to attain.

There is also section detailing at least a dozen advanced push-up exercises, some great push-ups trivia and a useful collection of frequently asked questions.

Naturally I’m hoping the book will be a success and if this web site is anything to go by, 7 Weeks to 100 Push-Ups will be on the best sellers list in no time at all!

Thank you everyone for supporting the Hundred Push Ups program and allowing me the opportunity to expand on the simple idea of doing push-ups to get fit.

Happy push-ups!
